Hare Krishnas distribute hot meals at Leicester University via a converted Indian bicycle rickshaw: THE VIDEO

Devotees from the Hare Krishna Centre distribute regularly hot meals at Leicester University via a converted Indian bicycle rickshaw.
The rickshaw has kindly been donated by Parasurama Prabhu from the London based charity ‘Food for All’. It has then been converted by the expertise of Bill and Rasamandala Prabhu. Julie has lent her artistic skills for the flags and the writing on the rickshaw.
Satwant from GMW (Leicester) LTD has kindly spray painted the rickshaw in his car body shop. We are much indebted to him.
Students are overjoyed in receiving hot, delicious Krishna prasadam. They could hardly believe that it was free. Many are asking who is sponsoring this programme.
There is an increasing number of sponsors who want to participate and help with the programme. We want to thank all of them wholeheartedly:
Parasurama Prabhu for donating the rickshaw to the Hare Krishna Centre, Bill for building and painting the box, for assembling the rickshaw as well as doing all the welding work.

Wikipedia on: Hare Krishna Food for Life

Hare Krishna Food for Life is the world’s largest vegan and vegetarian non-profit food relief organization with projects in over 60 countries.[1] Volunteers serve more than 1,500,000 free meals daily[1] in a variety of ways, including: food vans serving to the homeless within major cities around the world; lunch time meals for poor school children throughout India; and also in response to large natural disasters, such as the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.[2]
With roots in India, the Food for Life project is a modern day revival of the ancient Vedic culture of hospitality with its belief in the equality of all beings. It was conceived of and began by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in 1974 and is thus commonly known as ISKCON Food For Life or Hare Krishna Food For Life. It has been lauded by the New York Times and the International Rescue Committee (among others) for its relief efforts worldwide.[3]
From the bottom of your heart

Every day and every night, all over the world, Food for Life volunteers distribute food to anyone who comes along. Some people give a donation in return; others are unable to do so.
Here in Sydney volunteers go out each week night and distribute food at Newtown Neighbourhood centre. Even in the rain I have seen the volunteers sheltering in the van. If you need a meal plan to be there around 7pm.
There are many ways you can help us to continue our program of distributing food. Here are two:

One way you can help is by volunteering your time. Food for life is looking for volunteers to help us serve the hungry. We need volunteers who can cook, clean and help us distribute food to those who are in need.
Each day we obtain and prepare the ingredients required to cook the food we distribute. Volunteers are needed to help in this area. We need people to wash, peel, chop, dice, slice and grate.
Experience is not a requirement but it would be a great help.

Another way you can help is by donating money. You may not have the time to come and help us but you might have a few dollars you can donate. It cost money for our volunteers to have food to cook and a van to transport it in to the distribution point in Newtown at the Neighbourhood Centre across from Newtown station. It cost money to buy the plates and untensils so people can eat it.
If you would like to help but don’t have the time then please consider that your donation is vital to Food for Life as it will help us to maintain, improve and expand our services.
X marks the spot
The white square on the ground in the front of this building is the exact spot were you can find the Food for Life volunteers each week day in the evening at 7pm. If you are free you can come along and take some of the food being distributed. If you are able you can leave a donation.
Come and see us. We would be really interested to hear how you might be able to help us out.
